When did you last see a good one of these??

This gorgeous old HR Premier is an exceptionally rare survivor in its own right, but this example has the added bonus of having been ordered from new with the very desirable X2 performance option!

The ancestral grandfather of the modern Club sport this was essentially Holden's first serious attempt at a luxury high performance touring car, and by 1966 standards it was just that.

A very rare car now, the X2 option got you the factory twin carbs, on the unique finned alloy manifold, with the twin branch exhaust extractors, a slightly better cam grind from Waggot, and a neat air cleaner box unique only to the X2, all coming together to give better overall performance than most of its rivals at the time.

This particular example was purchased new and registered to the USSR Legation department of NZ on August the 19th 1966, and still retains its original ownership papers showing five private owners from new, and the mileage is recorded as a genuine 91,000.

Having obviously had a very good life, the clean straight old body is in nice order and the car appears to have had only an older repaint in the original Landale Gold metallic with the contrasting Grecian white roof, which still presents very well today, and while this survivor appears to have never been fully restored its clearly never needed to be, its impressive honest appearance is simply one of a very good old car.

The engine bay is immaculate having been detailed correctly and is complete with all of its unique fittings and fixtures, as is the boot area, and underside.

The immaculate original Samoan Tan interior is a pleasure to sit in, with its plush deep buttoned buckets, full centre console, plush cut pile carpeting, and wood grain accents, complete with the factory Air Ranger push button radio, and its factory hand book as supplied in 1966 !

A rare and desirable example of a very user friendly classic which even by today's standard is a particularly classy car, with that magic swinging sixties style and flare that made these cars so popular back in the day.

A lot of classic for the money, and priced well under what it would cost to get one to this standard today...if you could find another factory X2....

Inspection will impress a genuine buyer, better than money in the bank!
