How cool old this old girl!

This NZ new 55 FJ was first registered in Christchurch on the 12th of December 1955 and according to its original ownership papers has had six owners, five in Canterbury, with the last in South Canterbury.

The legendary FJ was the first series of Holden's to be sold here new in New Zealand, and they started a passion for the brand which is still going strong 62 years later!

This honest old example has never been restored as its obviously never needed to be, it has luckily survived the decades and only been cosmetically tidied up over time to remain largely unmolested.

The solid old body appears generally very tight, with a great overall appearance, and the paintwork although showing its age and polished thin in places still presents very well with a decent shine and only the odd bump and scar from having been used, but treated well and enjoyed.

The interior is tidy and honest with what appears to be good original trim on the seats, and an older set of replacement carpets, with a nice cloth headliner.

The boot area is honest and tells the story of a good old survivor car with the engine bay showing the same cared for and well preserved quality.

A good solid under body and floor that hasn't been butchered is refreshing to see, and over all it shows this example has been treated largely with respect.

The old grey engine is very happy in her work with plenty of power for the period, and a nice smooth pull, shifting very nicely through the gears, and running surprisingly well at open road speed making the car very easy and enjoyable to drive.

Nice chrome trim and bright work complements the stunning black paintwork, and old period DR wheel bands, a rear window venetian, head light hoods, and wide whites give this old darling a real old school period correct feel.

A neat old car with that fantastic FJ Grin finished in good colours, and still wearing her first issue black licence plates!

Looks just like the one Granddad had!
