One of Chevrolets all time greatest hits was the legendary 57 Chevrolet Bel Air, one look and you can easily see why...
This fine example of the breed is a now very rare 4 door Hard Top Sports Sedan, and is also a factory optioned Power Pack car running the ever popular 283ci Small block in 4 barrel form, which was big news back in 57!
This would have been a heavily optioned car in the day and would have been quite a knockout in Jet Black with the contrasting black and silver interior trim, 61 years later it's still a head turner, and still looks like automotive artwork.
Arriving here in NZ recently as a tidy and very original drivable old survivor, she was found to have a few issues at compliance time, which is sadly more often than not the case....but being such a good car the decision was made to go right through the car head to toe, and the lengthy and no expense spared restoration of this impressive Chevy would be enough make anyone's eyes water, but we are now presented with a nicely restored example with tens of thousands of dollars invested in man hours, materials, and all new components, all new stainless and chrome, rubbers, trim, the list just goes on and on...
One of the remaining items that did survive was the original seating, still covered in the original delivery plastic! never uncovered these seats are as new, and tell the story of a nice original car that clearly deserved the thorough restoration that's been undertaken.
The body is super straight with nice panel fitment and over all presentation, while the paintwork presents well complemented by all of that lovely stainless trim.
An original Power Pack car this example appears to have the correct heads, and retains its original intake manifold and four barrel carburettor, exhaust manifolds, and air cleaner, and was also optioned with power assisted brakes.
Over all this is a very sympathetically restored example, why change what's already perfect? the only real change from standard are the low profile tires and new 17 inch Ridler alloys, and also accompanying the sale are the original wheels, white wall tires and factory hubcaps.
All the money has already been spent here, and it's very evident, being offered well under cost, and well under replacement today... call for more information on this gorgeous Chevy.
