Where did all these old girls go??

We haven't had an XA Fairmont Sedan for quite some time, as they have now become a Very rare bird...

This example was assembled here in NZ and sold in Christchurch new in January of 1974, in fact it has lived its entire life here, the first lady owner had the car for 20 years before she passed away and the car was purchased by the second owner in 1994 at 53k miles, and he still owns it today!

Remarkably this old XA hasn't clicked over 100,000 miles yet, and is currently showing a documented 80k miles, retaining its original ownership papers showing its recorded two owner history!

A very clean and honest old car this Fairmont has been given a decent clean up at some point fairly recently, and is sporting a new coat of the correct Roman Bronze over its very solid bodywork, which still looks great today complemented by its original factory fitted tan vinyl top, and original full face hub caps.

The interior is in remarkable condition with what appears to be the original carpets still on the floor, and almost all of the original untouched trim in the factory Oatmeal, having only had what appears to be minor repairs to the driver's seat base, with the rest being original 1974, and being a genuine high grade Fairmont she has the desirable bucket seats and full centre console, with the traditional T-Bar shifter on the floor.

The Cleveland V8 residing in the engine bay has been warmed up a little with an upgraded cam and bigger carb for more performance, which certainly seems to have worked as she's pretty lively, however the original parts have been retained, and come with the vehicle too.

The transmission is an original FMX 3 speed auto, which shifts nicely, and along with factory power steering comes together to make the whole driving experience a real pleasure, nicely reflecting the low mileage and low owner history.

A very solid complete example of a now very sought after Australian classic, kept in this condition this example will not only be a pleasure to own, but will undoubtedly be a rewarding future investment, as these cars are now becoming very difficult to find.

Call today for further information on this old school Kiwiana classic.
