A very rare find.....

A genuine survivor 1970 Z28 Camaro that has been in NZ since the early 70s, and as such has a great early history here, including competition racing, circuit and drag racing, and this one has survived to tell the tale!

A solid old car this Z28 has clearly been the subject of an extensive rebuild in the past, after retiring from its earlier racing days, and as a result still displays very well, with an honest original interior, reflecting a true survivor car.

The body is clean and appears very solid, with only the odd trace of its early history like the period bonnet pins, and slightly rolled rear wheel arches, which all add to the flavour of this iconic old racer. The paintwork although older now still presents well with the odd mark bump and bruise, but it is painted in the highly desirable Hugger Orange, with the white run ways, which according to the body tag is the way this car was originally born.

The mechanical refurbishment is also a nod to the cars history as well, with a very staunch, but remarkably well behaved small block residing in the engine bay, coupled to a 4 speed manual trans and running into the 12 Bolt diff, with the factory high performance Z28 suspension package, including the rear sway bar, and heavy duty springs.

The interior is the desirable black Deluxe trim, and as such has the unique wood grain accents, and the chequered inserts in the seating, along with the factory centre console and full dash layout with all of the gauges.

Any genuine Z28 enthusiast will understand the value in this very rare car, not many true 70 Z28s have survived today, they were born to be raced, and as such most got destroyed early on, got well butchered, or ended up on speedway tracks, lost forever.

Correct Factory Z28 15 inch wheels, with wide white lettered tires and a low stance give this old Z a menacing early Muscle Car look, and it's pretty clear on inspection that this is no ordinary Camaro...

Call today for further details, lots of history and period articles accompany the sale of this old girl, including being a Cover Car on the NZ Hot Rod magazine in the eighties, and being used for speed shop promotions back in the day.

A great old car with a cool story.
