This stunning HG Ute has to be seen to be fully appreciated!
Sporting one of the most dry old original bodies we have ever seen on a vintage Holden this beautiful Ute has been the subject of a painstaking cosmetic restoration having been stripped right back and professionally painted to an exceptional standard in a simply stunning Dodge colour called Prowler orange, it is a real head turner!
This remarkable colour has been laid beautifully over what can only be described as an unbelievably good shell, and as such looks simply gorgeous, the metallic Copper Gold colour works so well with the crisp sharp lines of the HG body, and it really does need to be seen in person to get the full picture.
An interesting old Ute that has clearly enjoyed a very good easy life, she was originally sold new in Rangiora North Canterbury to her first owner which was local identity Tony Chimes the Ice Cream man!
Clearly all it did in the first few years was carry boxes of ice cream cones, because the deck is still in remarkable condition, and when the timber was replaced it was found to have almost perfect original old paint work down inside the inner guards and deck, an area where the rust normally loves to reside in old Holden's!
Canterbury its entire life, as recorded in the original ownership papers that are still retained, this Ute has clearly been restored as a labour of love, and is now as good inside and under the bonnet as it is on the outside, with all new rubbers, and a full new interior with a nice touch of adding the new GTS wheel, and with all new seatbelts fitted, and a nice sound system, it's a great place to sit back and do some cruising.
The heavily detailed engine bay is home to one of Holden's finest, the legendary 186 ci Red Motor which is performing nicely aided by a genuine Yellow Terra head complete with Roller Rockers, Star fire pistons, and a nice mild cam, giving this old girl a nice bit of attitude without compromising the lovely drivable nature of this 70s Aussie Icon.
The Big Red 6 is hooked up to a column shifted Tri Matic 3 speed auto, and this old girl has power disc brakes up front, giving her nice manners over all.
Period perfect Hustler alloys that have also been refurbished at great cost wrapped in red walls round out the package and give this example the real seventies classic look!
