A very rare opportunity to own a genuine and very rare example of the iconic first generation GT Mustang!

This simply stunning factory A Code 4v 289 GT is a well known local car, and was fully restored a few years ago by a local car collector who handpicked this example when a genuine honest car was a lot easier to find than they are today.....

Taking this very original old car back to a bare metal stripped out shell was the first step in the long and detailed restoration, the clean body was then detailed correctly and professionally repainted in and out in gorgeous Wimbledon White, further complemented by the Deluxe Pony Interior in deep burgundy, with all of the lovely wood grain accents and the full length centre console and factory tinted windows. Testament to a decent quality older restoration of a good car this example still presents beautifully today, and still displays like a recent restoration.

The detail and research carried out at the point of restoration extends to the correct dark orange primer being displayed on the underside as per factory, and a lot of effort has gone into making sure everything looks like the day it rolled off the floor when new.

The engine has also been fully rebuilt, and sympathetically detailed with the correct manifolds, and original air cleaner, while a lot of attention to the original detail as per factory specification has been researched and applied throughout.

The smooth sweet running 289 V8 is coupled up to the Cruise -O- Matic automatic transmission, and also optioned was power steering, and of course the desirable Kelsey Hayes disc brakes of the GT package, all coming together to return a really nice driver experience from this beautiful Classic Mustang.

Excellent chrome and trim along with the factory GT Styled steels and the slightly lowered ride height of the GT model really make this one stand out from the crowd.

This Mustang has to be seen to be fully appreciated, it is a simply gorgeous example of one of the most iconic examples of one of the most successful American cars of all time, the Mustang has enjoyed a seldom matched status in the classic car world for many decades, and this is not by accident, these cars are popular because they are just so user friendly, and easy to live with, and this one has the benefit of being a very rare example of a highly collectible model, so also represents a strong future investment as time goes on.
