Aussie Muscle Simply doesn't get much more staunch than an angry looking A9X Hatch!!
Sold by us many years ago as an exceptional car at the time, this beautiful example has been treated to a full ground up restoration by a respected local classic restoration company, and has done very little work since, being the Star Car of a local collection, only coming out on special occasions.
The time has come to reduce the collection, so finally after many years of trying to get our hands back on this impressive beast, we finally have it back! and it's our pleasure to offer it to market today.
Starting life as a factory V8 4 speed Manual car born in Melbourne in April of 1976, this coupe was ordered from new in Absinth yellow, one of the absolute hero colours coveted by collectors today, and still retains this stunning hue.
The body on this Hatch is as good as you would ever hope to find, the general panel fitment and body lines would be far better than when the car was assembled new, and the paintwork which is in excellent condition, is finished in a far superior manor to anything that would have been applied in 1976, giving this Hatch a standout appearance no matter what its parked next too.
The photos simply do not do this car justice, it is every bit as good as it looks, with the same attention to detail having being applied to the exterior, the entire rear hatch area, and in the impressively detailed engine bay, while the underside has been finished and detailed very nicely too with a thin stone guard applied, so the car is still usable without the fear of damaging a painted show finish underside, and presents very well with nice detail.
The running gear in this stunner consists of a recently and locally rebuilt very responsive 308 ci Holden engine, coupled to a factory 4 speed gearbox, and on into a factory V8 Diff, and this package has proved itself to be strong and reliable, with an absolutely magnificent rumble that with a blip of the throttle is unmistakable 70s Muscle!
All full new correct grain interior trim kit has been fitted throughout, along with the SS sports instrument dash, correct steering wheel, and a full new rubber kit including screen rubbers to make the interior a really nice place to sit back and enjoy the experience of driving a very special race breed Holden with an undisputable link to the great man himself, the King of the Mountain.
You would go a long way to find a better example of an A9X replica than this one, if a better one is out there, we would love to see it!
No disappointments here, you certainly won't make an average Hatch this car for the money today, and why would you bother, life's short , and as Peter Brock used to say "Live life!" so here's your chance!
