Originally imported from Australia in 1982 this Hatch was purchased from a deceased estate in 2014 and has been the subject of a full and very extensive rebuild to replicate one of the all time Australian hero cars, the almighty Bathurst conquering A9X SS Hatch!
The bodywork on this example is nothing short of spectacular, with panel alignment and fitment to a standard well above most modern cars, and is further complemented by an amazing coat of period correct Panama Green with black accents, which is certainly not a subtle combination!
The running gear in this outstanding example consists of a warmed over all alloy GM LS engine believed to be producing around 510 hp, with cross over throttle body injection that is a work of art in itself, this impressively detailed package is coupled to a 5 speed TKO Tremac gearbox, with full hydraulic clutch set up, and attempting to get all of the power down is a Currie 9 inch 31 spline rear end, with billet axels and a Tru Track LSD, held in position by a custom four link rear end, which is held in place by adjustable chromoly arms and adjustable coil over's.
The braking duties are taken care of via full 4 wheel competition Willlwood braking system, all just visible through the incredible custom Simmons 17x 12.5 and 17x9.5 front and rear wheels, and equally impressive 315 x 35 rear tires!
Nothing has escaped the detailed and extensive restoration on this build, the full interior is completely restored to the same high standard as the exterior and the body has been treated to a full new rubber kit, subtle tinted glass, and much much more...
This is a serious build of a particularly desirable car, that has clearly had a very serious investment of both time and money, with results that quite simply speak for themselves...
Completed in 2017 just in time for the 14th Holden Nationals this amazing Torana won both the prestigious Modified Torana award, and the converted Entrants Choice awards.
This is a magnificent car that presents beautifully, and is surprisingly drivable with nice road manners for the amount of power being produced in what is a relatively small car, the driving experience lets you know it's not going to take any prisoners, while still being quite pleasant to drive for the style of machine that it is.
