###SOLD###SOLD###SOLD###

This super cool and very rare first generation 335 Capri is a NZ new survivor car that according to its MANZ Log Book has been a classic race car for around 30 years! having clearly enjoyed great success on a lot of circuits around the country over the years, even getting commentary recognition on one occasion from the great Peter Brock!
A very well developed example for its type, this little car really gets the job done, and is a whole lot of fun to drive.
Running a worked 711m Cross flow Ford block, with a Big Valve pre cross flow head and twin 40 mm Delortos, lightened polished and balanced crank, 090 over Hepolite flat top pistons, lightened flywheel etc, it is believed to be out to around 1700 cc now, and is running a close ratio Capri gearbox, with 4:44 diff gears, in a custom made A Frame rear working with original leaves retained, so it gets rolling real well, revs like it's on crack, and hangs on like it's on rails!

The body shell is surprisingly solid for one of these cars, very honest, and is an original Capri body shell, not a modified 315 body, it has tidy presentable paintwork for an old racer, and is virtually totally complete, the body is showing no major evidence of any big impacts, or major rust work having been completed , That said this is an old race car, and has been for a number of years, so is far from concourse...and has never been restored as such.
The registration is on hold, and the car could be put back on the road with a bit of work if you were keen enough, but it is really far better suited to club work etc, and a lot more fun too!
This little rocket has proven itself to be very reliable and a strong performer on many occasions, I have personally driven this car out of town to classic hill climb events, punished it mercilessly all day, and then simply driven back again on several occasions with absolutely no issues at all, and it has never let me down once.
This cool little Capri has been usable as is for basic club events, and hill climbs at an entry level, however would require an up to date roll cage and new belts for anything further up the scale, and at the very least for road related use I believe it would now require LVVTA certification, and a Motor Sport Authority card to obtain a warrant of fitness, but the rego is still active, along with the original log book, and for what it has been used for most recently, it has proved more than suitable.
The purchase of another Club Car means this cool little car is simply not getting used anymore, and its far too good to just sit in a storage shed.... It would be great to see it being used and enjoyed again, as it always gets great admiration when ever its out and about.
A tough little car that instantly brings a smile to your face, and don't under estimate it...it is more than capable of giving you a real thrill !
