How cool is this genuine old survivor?

This very rare beast is a limited factory build, and one of only 746 similar Sportsman models ever built according the accompanying documentation.

A beautully presented example this very interesting Fairlane 500 was born in Eaglevale QLD in late December 1978 and was delivered new to its first owners on the 8th of February 1979 through Jubilee Motors Five Dock, situated on the legendary Parramatta Road.

The original and very long term owners of this special car moved to NZ in 2013 and brought their cherished Big Ford over here with them, putting it on the road here in early 2014.

This lovely special old car has clearly enjoyed a cherished existence its entire life remaining in very good condition throughout and has recently come to us from a private Classic collection.

Being a Sportsman package optioned example, this high grade Fairlane was pretty well loaded with options right from the start including a body coloured padded vinyl top, and retro pin striping detail, as well as the 302 V8 coupled to the T -Bar automatic transmission, and onto the 4 wheel disc brake rear end.

This particular Sportsman appears to have ticked the entire options package as far as we can see, as it is also equipped with the very desirable sliding steel sunroof, power tinted windows, A/C (although no longer fitted) and herring bone patterned cloth luxury seating, along with the original top of the line Ford premium solid state sound system.

Finished in rich Deep Port Wine Burgundy with the gold accents you can clearly see this was a very flash luxury car in its heyday, and it really still is.

The body is very clean and straight with exceptional original inner detail around the doors and engine bay and very good mostly original paintwork displaying only the odd mark and blemish from being enjoyed, but having been very well cared for this lovely old car still presents very well over all.

The interior is in lovely order and is still a very luxurious place even by today's standards to just sit back in the big lounge chairs in total comfort with the sun roof wound back taking in the fresh air.

Lovely chrome and trim and a set of classic Triden style alloys and Eagar's complete the package, however the original and now very rare Volante alloys are also included in the sale if you want the total period correct appearance for this rare classic Ford.

Quite possibly the only example of this model in this country, and one of very few surviving examples left worldwide.

Original documentation sales brochures service books mechanical receipts and even the original Five Dock key fob are all retained with this neat old Fairlane.
