A great affordable start to that Hot Rod project you've been promising to build yourself !
This radical Salt Flat racer looking wedge chopped 34 Coupe really looks tough in olive drab, and backs it up with the sound of the open headers on the old Tri-Power Anchor!
This Coupe represents a whole lot of Rat Rod Hot Rod for the money, it still obviously requires some finishing ,but can be driven onto a trailer or around private roads as it sits, it's not currently registered, or certified, and will take further work to get it into the system legally, but it's certainly priced with that in mind, if you do the math you will quickly work out that the basic parts alone would cost a lot more than the price of this running driving project car....
The wedge chopped glass body has already been steeled out, (may still require more work) and the body is sitting on a boxed replica 34 Ford Chassis with a 4 link rear end set up, running coil over's, and an 8 inch Mustang diff, while the front suspension consists of a dropped tube axel located in a 4 bar set up, which is fitted with vented disc brakes and finned callipers.
Powering this little monster is an old school 272 Y-Block Ford Customline engine fitted with an Edelbrock Tri-Power set up, and wide open headers! this traditional power plant runs into a Mk 4 Zodiac 4 Speed gearbox, and this package shifts this lightweight car along with ease.
The intention of the builder was always to register this vehicle for road use, so the chassis has been built with this in mind, and has the necessary drive shaft loop and some other requirements, so appears to be well on the way to becoming road legal.
The sparse interior is all business with alloy bomber style seats, a Hurst crooked shifter, and a 40 steering wheel, while the 34 replica dash is fitted in place, and ready to receive period gauges.
This little Coupe is a long way towards a finished legal Hot Rod project, its currently pretty bare bones, and you should carry out your own investigations with your local Hot Rod club or LVVTA certifier as to what may be required, as we are selling this vehicle as it sits today, and it will undoubtedly require more time and money to get it road legal, if thats your preference, but it would be well worth the effort....
At the end of the day the beauty of this Hot Rod project is that it runs and drives right now, its turn key, and its only $25k........ so someones going to get a real bargain...
