There really is just something a bit special about this cool old Pick Up....

The Great Grandfather of the now legendary Dodge Ram Trucks, these early Pick Ups which were referred to as the "Job Rated" series had a style and design which was arguably far beyond their competitors of the time, while clearly the Art Deco movement was a huge influence on overall style of everything in this era from toasters to vacuum cleaners to pickup trucks, they were all neatly streamlined and simply beautiful in design for no other reason than just because they could be, with the Dodge having the big bold stainless steel grille and sweeping guards complete with the trademark Speed lines pressed in all making them really stand out from the crowd.

First appearing in 1939 these Pick Ups were an instant success and also found themselves favoured for the looming war effort with production shifting from civilian to military use and them being adapted to 4X4 and heavy duty service for the war effort, becoming a respected tried and tested work horse in the field, before Civilian production continued after the war, with the same popular body style continuing right through until the late 1940s.

This particular little gem arrived on our shores in 2016 from the good old US of A and was complied and registered here before being put to use doing light duties on a large rural historic homestead property where it was right at home, and it was more than happy in its new roll.

The Flathead Six engine and four speed gearbox perform as you would expect and although the performance certainly won't blow you away by any means, it's still quite a capable old girl taking into consideration its now well advanced age and dated technology, but that's all really part of the charm.

The clean body has the desirable Express style well side deck and has been refinished in a lovely commercial Dove grey complemented by Jet Black mud guards and looks classy yet industrial in its appearance, while neatly refurbished trim and chrome all come together giving this Pick Up a timeless classic and style.

The cabin is all business with rugged black leather and hardboard trims in correct period fashion and is simply just a neat place to sit back and take in the charm and character of this cool old Truck.

This neat old Dodge would be ideal as a promotion statement piece for the right business or just as a fun weekend classic for leisurely runs to the coffee shop with the dog, either way she would be right at home!
