This neat old Pick Up really has the look!

Sold new in NZ in 1948 as a factory RHD Pick Up, this cool old truck no doubt earned a living hauling loads, and working around the farm before being discovered in Temuka South Canterbury, and being transformed in to the great looking Hot Rod it is today,

Starting with the stock chassis, an HZ Holden front subframe has been spliced into position, complete with power steering, and power disc brakes, and located in the frame is a nice strong detailed 350 small block with truck heads, fitted with a duel plane Edelbrock manifold, and performer carb, with block hugger headers, and the heads have also just been rebuilt by Cylinder head specialists in Ch Ch, with a new mild street cam having also been fitted, giving nice crisp performance with nice manners ,and decent fuel economy,

The ever trusty combo is running through to a nice smooth shifting TH 350 trans, and on to a Chevy 12 bolt diff.

The body is clean solid and tidy, presenting well for a truck of this vintage, and it has a very nice well side deck complete with a wood trimmed bed liner, and a custom alloy hard lid released via a cable control, with bear claw latches to protect the cargo,

The magnificent chrome grill and other bright work has all been replated, and sets off the metallic burgundy paintwork to perfection, while the clean and functional interior presents nicely, and is generally a really cool place to just sit back and cruise,

All in all this cool old pick up ticks a lot of the boxes, its nice and tidy, with a great look, but is not so perfect you would be scared to use it, and it drives surprisingly well, in fact considerably better than a lot of later American Pick Ups we have driven....
