How cool is this old groover!

A real blast from the past this cool old cruiser has a real old school Kiwiana flavour to her, coming from a simpler time when you customised what you had available to personalise it and make it stand out, and the mighty Mk 1 Zephyr was the weapon of choice for many a likely lad, they were our answer to the American custom cars we all dreamed of....and with the very nicely done subtle radius rear arches and the extra period adornments including the desirable external sun visor and mandatory 6 foot Ariel for the fox tails, this one would have been a real head turner!

In remarkable condition for its age this old girl must have been good clean survivor to begin with, and has clearly been treated to a decent older cosmetic restoration at some point which still presents very well today, the old lacquer paintwork still gleams nicely and is finished with a little pin striping detail to give it a traditional flavour.

The body appears clean and solid both underneath and on top, and the chrome is all in good order too with the paint showing only the expected minor blemishes chips and wear from being enjoyed over many decades.

The interior has been refinished at some point in the past too and is a quality job which is still in really good order, with nice comfortable beach seating and refinished door trims.

The engine purrs beautifully through the free flows and twin system, complete with that unmistakable Zephyr Six burble, and the gearbox shifts well giving nice feedback to the driver, with decent period performance.

Cragar alloys really look the goods on this old girl, and the whole while package is guaranteed to put a smile on your face, and make you want to cruise with your elbow out the window!

Quite a rare car today, and although first registered NZ new in January 53 this example appears to be a 1952 build and retains some of its unique trim and original fittings.

Looking just like she's cruised out of an Autorama show from the seventies this survivor is ready to be used and enjoyed, simply a very cool old car that will impress a genuine buyer for a classic mild custom Mk 1.
