This old unrestored barn find survivor has been in long term ownership before recently being purchased from a deceased estate, and recommissioned at substantial cost by its current custodian.

An honest old car this example really has lived to tell the tale, at almost 70 years of age she's still soldiering on, and proudly displays the fact that she has been well used and enjoyed over the decades which shows throughout, but gives her a certain patina that suits the old girl.

The body seems to be solid enough although will have certainly had numerous repairs carried out over the years as would be expected, and the paintwork although showing its age with plenty of chips and blemishes still presents generally quite well over all.

Mechanically this old MK 1 performs well for the age, the engine seems very happy in its work and the gearbox has recently been rebuilt along with most of the braking system, and numerous other mechanical items during the recent re commission.

The older hood is still quite serviceable and has recently had the hydraulic rams rebuilt and refitted, the windows all roll up and down, and pretty much most of the bits and pieces are in place to make the car quite usable.

Good chrome and fittings for an unrestrored example adorn the exterior, while the interior sports an older but serviceable black vinyl finish to match the hood.

A hard car to find today, this one would make a good usable driver style car or would be a good base for a rolling restoration if that's your thing, it has remarkably good manners on the road, but will no doubt require further ongoing work to make it a better car moving forward.

In a nut shell, This cool old survivor Mk 1 wont fill your trophy cabinet, and probably won't impress the rivet counters at a Zephyr convention, but it will get you there, and you can take the dog in the back, while the kids spill their ice cream, and you park it anywhere you like, another chip won't worry this one! and all adds to the charm.
