This well-known local car has an impeccable history and provenance, and would be one of the most respected surviving original specification examples available today.

Sold brand new on the West Coast of NZ this car spent the best part of its life in Kaiapoi North Canterbury and was owned by one family for almost its entire life until quite recently.

Clearly a good unmolested car that always has been, it would have been the perfect base for a full no expense spared rotisserie restoration to its original specification, which is exactly what it received.

Restored very well quite some time ago, it now has a really good period correct appearance that leaves you wondering if its an original very well maintained survivor somehow, or a nice older restoration car.

Having clearly been restored by old school trades people who knew what they were doing this Mark 1 has an amazing body with nice panel fitment and as such drives tight and true, being a pleasure to drive and easy to live with.
The paintwork which appears to be old hand rubbed and buffed dulon looks period perfect, and it appears all of the chrome has been refurbished at the time of the restoration too, and of course a new power operated correct Coupe De Ville hood was also installed.
The correct Mk 1 style engine is still proudly in place and runs beautifully through to a lovely tight manual gearbox and on into a recently fully rebuilt differential.
The overall drivability and general road manners on this old Mark 1 are remarkably good, and it has plenty of power from its big old six which you can hardly even hear running.
The interior has been treated to a full re trim in genuine grey supple leather and is really comfortable and really looks the part with its contrasting body colour piping.

A really neat old car with a great history, and all of the money has been spent with a few miles under her belt now so all the bugs appear to be ironed out giving you a nice driving, good looking old car that appears to be every bit as good as it looks!
