This absolutely gorgeous 55 Hard Top Coupe is a true survivor in the fact that it appears to have never been pulled apart and restored!
Remarkably it would appear that a repaint carried out many years ago gave this honest old girl a decent freshen up, and maybe some cosmetics over the years, but thats about it, the rest of it is pretty much un undisturbed and as it was 70 years ago! Complete with a few stone chips and generally a lovely patina and character.

The lovely bodywork is very honest with no evidence of major repairs to the underside or anywhere else really, and the chrome glass and trim all present as very original and very honest.

According the story of this 55, she was born in sunny California and purchased new by a GM parts counter employee, who loaded this old girl up at the dealership with all of the fruit of the day out of the accessories catalogue including Power Steering, and unbelievably Power operated Windows, and Power front seat! which all still work! The list goes on to include bumper guards, extra sill moulds, the Automatic transmission, and wide white walls to complement the Shoreline Beigh over Gypsy Red two tone paintwork which are the original colours according to the cowl tag. Fair to say, this boy must have done a lot of over time!

The old 265 purrs along nicely with a modern carb and coil having been fitted for reliability, and coupled up to the automatic transmission with the power steering this old darling is quite simply a pleasure to drive, and one that transports you back to the fifties in period style.

Not a 100 point concourse show winner, but if you understand the difference between a good clean honest genuine old survivor from a lolly pop painted up over restored one, then you will certainly appreciate this car for what it is..
You would be hard pushed to find another example as honest as this one, one of the most unmolested examples we have seen thats for sure.

Originally imported to NZ in 2010 the milage was at that time circa 80k now showing 97k miles, and although in no way confirmed, considering the general condition and authentic wear could potentially be a true representation.
