The song continued: Anyway there was this mob of blokes driving down Hunter Street in the front seat of the hot FJ, with chrome-plated grease nipples and twin overhead foxtails, and the coolest of them all, who got to sit near the window, was young Norm.

The car that really started it all for a lot of now famous Aussie tin top race drivers back in the sixties, the Hot FJ!

This cool old FJ Sedan has always been a good car and was recently finished by a local enthusiast who sadly didn't get much of an opportunity to use and enjoy her, but testament to his obvious passion for this old girl is that she is a real old honey to drive and be around!

Starting with what was obviously a solid old NZ new car this example has been mildly rodded to make it a very user friendly and a very capable example with nice road manners and an overall character and appeal that quite simply puts a big smile on your face.

The running gear powering this old girl is all pretty tried and true traditional fare, and true to her Holden roots with a sweet running black 202 Holden engine complete with tuned headers and a new 2 barrel Holley residing in the clean engine bay, which in turn is coupled to a 5 speed T-50 gearbox, and through to a later Holden diff with slightly lowered springs, while the front end is from a later HR Holden, so has power disc brakes, and is fitted with rack and pinion steering, making the entire package very easy to live with, and simply making a lovely old car out of it.

The body on this example appears solid and honest, and although the paintwork is older style lacquer it still presents very well with a really decent shine and finish that certainly wouldn't be out of place at your local car show, but it's also a car that you wouldn't be afraid to use and drive without the worry of an expensive new paintjob.

Very nice glass, and all new rubbers around the windows and doors complete the mild but well fettled restoration, while a very honest and tidy interior in what appears to be almost the original style trim with an old school cloth hood lining all looks very authentic, and largely period correct.

All of the chrome and bright work has been completely refinished which is a very expensive exercise, and looks absolutely amazing including the trademark toothy grille and smile that these old darlings have become famous for, while a nice highly polished set of genuine old school Triden alloys look Sixties period perfect!

A really nice old car with all the hard work done, fully LVVTA certified for all modifications, and ready to start enjoying right now!
You couldn't half restore one of these to anywhere near as good for this price...
