How cool is this old charmer? and what a true survivor she is!

A genuine Right Hand Drive NZ New car believed to have been sold and delivered new in 1956 by Paine Brothers the GM dealers in Otahuhu, she has survived through the decades and perils of time to still be with us today!

A relatively original unmolested example of a now very rare car it doesn't appear that this Chevrolet has ever been the subject of a major restoration, rather it has a good life and has been treated well being kept in good running order with what appears to have been an older cosmetic refurbishment at some point in the past, and although showing a few marks bumps and bruises she still presents very well over all with a decent tidy patina.

The body appears to be quite solid and displays no real evidence of any recent major work, with the older but still very presentable paintwork in the original traditional Ivory over Coral colour scheme complemented by nice chrome and trim displaying a generally very clean honest appearance.

The original style 265 V8 engine is still fitted and has clearly had previous work too as it runs beautifully into a smooth old column shift manual transmission with that smooth torque delivery from the trusty small block and effortless shift through the gears making this one a real pleasure to drive, and with the upgrade to power assisted disc brakes up front as a concession for safety this old girl really is a truly lovely old driver.

The interior appears to have been refinished some time long ago in the original diamond pattern style and still presents well with the addition of full modern seatbelts front and rear as this example has been used more recently for wedding functions, with the sympathetic safety upgrades all LVVTA certified for peace of mind.

A very hard car to find today, not many Kiwi New RHD examples survived the seventies and eighties without being butchered or becoming stock cars or rotten old wrecks, so to find one at almost 70 year of age still proudly on the road today is not as easy as you would think...

Well worth a look if you love the iconic old Tri Fives and want a neat old cruiser that the whole family can enjoy, and one that's not too precious to actually use and enjoy.
