and what a machine it was, a land mark model as one of the last of the legendary cars penned by the master GM designer Harley Earl before his retirement in 58, and he really went all out here!

The space race was on, and this big Buick looked as if it was actually capable of cruising to the moon!

A simply stunning genuine survivor car this particular Buick is an unrestored original car coming out of sunny Southern California and has been residing in NZ since being fully complied in 2010

The clean dry body is in remarkable order having had at some point a decent cosmetic closed door refurbishment , yet refreshingly retains its original paint in the door jambs and inner areas with what also appears to be its complete and original interior, showing that the car has lived a very decent existence over the last 64 years, with no evidence of major body work having been carried out or having been butchered in any way.

The trim and bright work adorning the amazing bodywork is out of this world, with enough trim on one back guard to build a Prius! and it is all present and accounted for, complementing the Ebony and Ivory paintwork to absolute perfection, while the amazing detail in the sumptuous interior has to be seen to be appreciated.

This sensational big Buick is powered by the 326 V8 Fireball Engine coupled to the Dyna Flow automatic transmission, and the engine appears to have had previous work as its running starting and presenting very well with a lovely shifting auto making the package drive superbly.

Fire ball and Dyna flow, even the mechanicals had cool names back in the fifties, see how that sounds so much better than EV....

This is a seriously cool car, it drives and rides superbly even on its big low profile wheels and tires, largely due to its impressive weight, and it looks absolutely sensational too, so if you want to make a real statement on the road then this big grumpy Buick will do that for you no problems!

Sadly they will never build cars with personalities and presence like this ever again, just a simply magnificent thing because it could be, the passion of the designer is expressed in every line, and it makes you smile, we will never see that again...
