This cool old girl has a real neat period 60s mild custom flavour with the wide metal flake wheels, metal flake roof, wide whites and bullets, and classy hand painted pin striping !
Starting with what was obviously a pretty solid old black plate Kiwi new car, it appears that a reasonable amount of effort has gone into the honest old body which has then been treated to a coat of clean pale green of the era, with the recent addition of a metal flaked contrasting dark green roof, with the same treatment applied to the wide steel wheels.
The mechanicals and over all drivability is where this old girl really comes into her own though, and its quickly evident that a lot of thought, money and time has gone into this project...
Powered by a very healthy 186 straight six, and equipped with fully functioning triple carbs, and tuned length headers, mated up to a five speed Commodore box, and on to a later Holden diff, this old Holden really gets the job done! while the stopping and tuning duties are taken care of by a power disc brake conversion on a later model Holden front end, with everything working just the way it should, and really making a decent very user friendly car out of this classic Golden Holden.
The full interior has been treated to a period custom style retrim in tuck and roll vinyl in contrasting colours, with neat subtle pin striping, and it even has the Hula Girl on top of the dash!
A decent stereo package has been incorporated into the rebuild for cruising comfort, along with new rubbers, and carpets throughout, including the custom trunk area.
The bumpers and a lot of the bright work has been rechromed around the exterior, no doubt at great expense, giving this old cruiser a really nice overall appearance, and the complete package presents well with a very unique and cool period style.
All of the hard works been done here, providing a good clean example that's not over restored mint, or too precious to enjoy, yet would still look the part at your local car show or coffee run, and this example is fully LVVTA certified for all her modifications, and is being offered today well under replacement cost.... do the sums on a rough one, and see how far you get for 30k.....
All that's left to do is find some brylcreem cream for your hair, work on perfecting your gutter grip, and find a milk bar to cruise to!
