The iconic 63 1/2 Galaxie 500 XL!

A landmark car for the Ford Motor Company this stunning shape known as the Fastback or Sports Roof was a midyear introduction to make the car sleeker and faster with less drag for the NASCAR series!

This magnificent top of the range XL 500 is as good as it looks, the huge body is in remarkable condition with evidence of only the one repaint from new, retaining the original paint in the door shuts and impressively original trunk area, it is very straight and solid with what appears to be all original sheet metal including the trunk floor which still has the original trunk mat fitted.

According to the undisturbed data tag this example had a DSO order to Utah which would explain why it is so dry, and was handpicked and imported to NZ many years ago when a good one was easy enough to find... off the original owner with just over 80k genuine miles, and is now only showing a mere 105k miles.

This Galaxie certainly drives and rides like a low mileage survivor, and the 352 Cubic inch FE Big Block runs beautifully shifting through the Cruise-O-Matic automatic, and with power steering ticked as an option, this one is an absolute pleasure to drive, with superb manners, and is totally sorted.

Excellent chrome and bright work trim complement the gorgeous Rose Beige Metallic paintwork, and everything is where it should be and in very nice order including all of the lavish side trim and exterior jewellery that usually shows its age on these big cars.

The interior is magnificent in contrasting Rose metallic with all of the fruit that these Big luxury Galaxies became famous for in the Sixties, like the super plush bucket seating, and full length centre console, with plenty of chrome trim and class!

A beautiful set of highly polished American racing wheels set the stance for this impressive big Ford, and it certainly looks like a whole lot of car for the money.

A very good car in really nice unmolested order, this would be hard car to replace today, and even harder in this condition at this price....
