Arriving to us shortly, this magnificent looking 63 1/2 Fastback is a very cool old survivor!

Originally an Arizona native this clean old XL 500 has resided here in NZ since 2004 and is very well known to us.

Since arriving here on our shores this example has only had a couple of local Canterbury owners, with the current one recently fully rebuilding the 390 cube Big Block FE engine, while along the way the transmission and differential have also been rebuilt here in NZ, along with replacing many suspension components to ensure this example is now just simply a good old turnkey cruiser that behaves itself very well with decent road manners, complemented by its power steering and power brakes.

The body appears pretty honest and very straight with only the odd expected minor bumps and bruises consistent with its mature age, but overall she still presents very well, has solid floors and a solid trunk, and the older cosmetic restoration of what was clearly a clean old car has held up well over the years.

An original Jet Black car from birth, this example was re painted many years ago, and although not perfect still presents very well and is priced accordingly reflecting the fact it not a recent big dollar restoration.... this old darling retains all of the original trim and bright work from 63, and has nice tidy bumpers with very decent chrome, and looks absolutely sensational with the beautiful deep red XL 500 Deluxe bucket seat full length console interior, and has an impressive stance sitting down on her original super cool spinner caps and white walls.

This example looks absolutely fantastic with the windows rolled down to accentuate the long sleek pillar less Nascar inspired Fastback profile these big sixties Fords have become famous for, and it's no wonder the shape is now highly desirable.

These cars were a sensation when released mid way through the 63 model range, and have gone on to become iconic for their impressive style and appearance, they also enjoyed a proud racing history that still continues in classic racing today, but this one is just as happy cruising around looking very sinister in 60s period dress as the Man in Black.....

A very cool old car that has had a lot of money spent in the important places where it's not always seen, but often required....well worth a look if your after a nice big Sixties cruiser that can be driven and enjoyed, and wont get upset collecting a few stone chips!
