"Black Beauty!"

This old girl was the top of the line out of Dagenham in the swinging sixties, and its not hard to see why......The stylishly elegant Mark III Zodiac!

This magnificent old Zodi was sold brand new on the 6th of April 1965 by the then Ford agents Macaulay Ford of Invercargill.

According to the original ownership papers this old girl has lived her entire life in the deep South, residing in Invercargill with low ownership, and what appears to be 78,000 genuine miles, still even retaining the original black licence plates!

The body on this Zodiac is in exceptional condition for one of these cars, it has to be good to get away with being black, but it is far better than good, its super straight and very solid, reflecting what has clearly been a very easy life, and having obviously been treated with respect throughout the decades.

The paintwork has been nicely refinished at some point long ago, still presents very well today, and looks completely authentic with only minor wear evident, the chrome and stunning bright work that these cars where known for is still all present and correct, and looks fantastic contrasting on the Jet black bodywork.

The interior is in really nice order too which is refreshing for an old Zodiac, with a perfect crack free dashboard, and very nice seating protected by custom fitted sheepskin covers, with equally nice tidy door trims and carpeting.

The engine in this Zodiac has clearly had work over the years, as it ticks over beautifully providing plenty of smooth period power with that magnificent and unmistakable exhaust note due to having the twin pipes and a free flow.

Sitting up on a set of original wheels with period accessory trim rings and proper modern radial white wall tires, this gorgeous old Zodi rides just as good as it looks!

We don't see lot of these cars now unfortunately, but this would be one of the best we have seen in a long time, these cars are still a lovely drive, and a very capable open road tourer making them an excellent usable classic with that magic Kiwiana appeal!

Inspection will impress a genuine buyer, kept in this condition this old darling will be better than money in the bank!
