What a survivor!

This remarkable XP Fairmont has to be seen to be appreciated, simply an exceptional old car that drives just like it would have back in 1966!

Supplied new through Hutchinson Motors the Ford dealers in Christchurch, and always a Canterbury car, this dear old girl has travelled just over 100k miles in her 50 years of well respected ownership, and is a low owner car with all of her original books, and original ownership papers, recording the history of this car which has remained very honest throughout.

The solid body is remarkably straight, and shows very little evidence of ever having had any work carried out at all, the stunning Turquoise paintwork has been refinished due to age quite some time ago, but still presents well although does have the odd mark and chips as would be expected at this age, the interior however looks as new, the seats dash and all of the fittings would be the envy of a car 10 years old, and it is absolutely magnificent inside,

The boot is unbelievably tidy with its original paintwork still in place, along with the still soft rubber rear boot mat, and original sack jack and tool bag.

The engine bay has had a little bit of sympathetic cosmetic work carried out, but is all most completely original as well,

The chrome trim and bright work is all in nice order, and presents well over all, with all of the unique Fairmont trim and fittings present and correct.

This old honey really is a time warp, it drives far better than it should with a beautiful tight feel, a ride quality a new Falcon would struggle to match....

The XP range of Falcons successfully saved Ford Australia in the sixties, this was the car that did the business, and won hearts, one drive of this example today and it's easy to understand why, what a shame history can't repeat itself again today......

This original and now very rare Fairmont will impress a genuine buyer, you would seriously struggle to find another example like it anywhere, and it's the dead right colour, with an auto and power assisted disc brakes, she really does tick all the boxes!
