Now this is a very rare classic Mustang.

The swinging Sixties brought us the iconic Mustang Pony car, and it wasnt long before some pretty special cars were slipped into the line up, and this was certainly one of them

This stunning sparkling Sapphire Blue beauty is a rare beast being a factory optioned S Code 390 Big Block car, and even rarer still with it being a factory GT Big Block car.
According to the Marti Report which accompanies this special Mustang , this gorgeous 68 was built in the San Jose plant on the 29th of July 1968, and was one of only 863 4V S Code GT Hardtops produced that year, making it a very rare car, and an even rarer survivor today, with it being exceptionally rare here in NZ.

Additional options ticked on this Coupe from new also included Power Steering, Power Disc brakes, Tinted glass and the desirable GT equipment group, and having the 390 4V and C6 automatic transmission combination, it would have always been a pretty special car.

Coming to NZ in 1997 this rare GT was believed to have only had just the one original owner from new in 68 until 1996 before arriving here to our shores, and once it was given a general freshens up it went on to place well at a national level in the Mustang Nationals here in NZ.

The clean straight original body is refreshingly honest and sports an older but still very presentable coat of metallic Sapphire Blue which is complemented by a lovely black interior, and a set of highly polished Torque Trust Alloys which complete the package, and make this handsome Mustang really stand out in the crowd.

Nice chrome and trim round out the appearance, and the classic 68 C stripe along the flanks adds a neat touch.

Accompanying the sale of this collectable Mustang is a decent historical receipts file, some cool historical photos of the car as imported showing how clean and honest is was, and even the original handbook is still retained with the car.

This clean old Coupe drives really well with plenty of that lovely Big Block torque that made these engines so desirable back in the day, and with decent headers and the twin system the deep soundtrack is just as impressive!

A Lovley and very rare example that is an absolute pleasure to drive, and one that is quite the sleeper for both its effortlessly torque and its subtle understated appearance, simply a neat old classic Pony that will impress a genuine buyer!
