If you have been looking for a spectacular show quality Camaro Convertible...then the search is over!
This stunning 69 has been the recipient of many awards over the years and has also been a feature car in the respected NZ V8 magazine!
Starting with what was clearly a clean car, all of the work has been carried out here in NZ with NZ trades people, who generally have a reputation worldwide for quality workmanship, and this Camaro is absolutely no exception.
The body work has clearly had many painstaking hours af detailed work carried out as the panel fitment and laser straight body work is far better than it would have ever been in 69 and then a simply magnificent coat of electric blue has been applied to a very high standard of finish, arguably far better than would be expected on a new car today.
The running gear in this gorgeous Camaro is equally impressive, and consist of a staunch 427 Big Block Chevrolet with hypereutectic pistons ARP fasteners, a Comp Cams Dual pattern cam 265/272 duration 476/587 lift and a brand new Edelbrock manifold with a Holley 770 Street Avenger carb, complete with custom mandrel bend headers etc etc, all running into a Richmond Super T-10 Hurst shifted 4 speed, with a centre force clutch with a Lakewood scatter shield , all running back to a rebuilt 10 Bolt Chevy rear.
The braking duties are taken care of by a full custom Baer four wheel disc brake package , with 4 pot callipers and 300 mm front and rear rotors, and gas shocks are fitted at all four corners with a 25 mm front sway bar taking care of the handling duties.
If that all sounds like it means business, your right, but surprisingly this Camaro is a real pleasure to drive, it's not a super aggressive car to drive, it performs very well as would be expected with this sort of cubic inches, but has lovely road manners and is very user friendly with its smooth shifting 4 speed, a relatively light feeling clutch, and the complete package really is very pleasant to drive.
A full new interior and fold down hood has been fitted with a full gauge package in the dash including the desirable tacho, clock, and full factory accessory gauges in the full length centre console, while the carpet and trim fittings are all like new, and present very well too.
Restored to this standard a few years ago, but still like the day it was done, and it's had a few miles and a good shake down so is now fettled and sorted, all that's really left to do is enjoy!
Coded as an X11 code car on the original trim tag, and registered as an Super Sport, this example appears to have started life as a genuine SS-350, although obviously not now matching numbers.
This Camaro will not disappoint a genuine buyer, and anyone who has previously restored a car to this calibre will certainly appreciate the value here.
