How's this for something a wee bit different!

In a world of GT copies in the traditional sense, it's interesting to see this take on the period theme with what would have surly been a bit of a wakeup call for any Six Pack Charger that happened to encounter this particular 6 Cylinder Falcon back in the day! and most likely more than a few V8s too.....
This cool looking Australian Assembled 1970 built XY has been rebuilt to visually resemble its now legendary GT HO cousins, but with a twist... this one has a 2v 250 Cube six with a brace of 45 Side Droughts ! which makes a very interesting car out of it....
The 250 Six in 2V form was a bit of a force to be reconed with when it came out, with a lot of road reports of the time comparing the performance as equal to or better than the base 302 V8s, and this example has had some work along with the triple carbs so certainly doesn't mess about, and handles nice with a great balance on the road, with the smooth torque of the engine pulling very strongly from low down through the 4 speed manual transmission, and on into the BW diff.
The body work on this example presents very well and appears to be very solid with decent panel fitment, having clearly had the money spent, and a very nice older repaint that still looks fantastic in the desirable Track Red is complemented by the traditional GT blackouts and gold Super Roo side winder stripes.
A lot of detail and thought has been put into this example and it shows throughout, GT style over riders, driving lamps, blackouts, spoilers and the big GT fuel cap all look the part and with the car sitting down just right on a set of Globe alloys with wide rubber this XY really has the correct unmistakable period Australian Muscle Car look.
The interior is a mixture of tidy original trim, and some refinished fittings, with what appears to be rare genuine XY Falcon bucket front seats, matched to the rear, and a GT style dash complete with the 8k Rev counter, clock, period push button radio and a very desirable genuine GT Rim Blow steering wheel.
This cool XY has clearly had a lot of time and money invested in its refurbishment, and really has the legendary GT look nailed, a great car as it is today, or a perfect base to take her to the next level with the addition of a full GT interior trim kit, 351 V8, and Shaker scoop, as this one's already had all the hard expensive work completed.... either way you would have a cool and enjoyable investment, but It certainly wouldn't take a lot at all to make a really good and very expensive authentic GT replica out of this one....
A cool car no matter what you might want to do in the future, but the important part is its available in this condition today....and it's still relatively affordable....for now... half the price of a decent GT replica, but certainly not half the car....
