When did you last see on original unmolested one of these that hadn't had the GT treatment?

This well known local Canterbury car has been admired around here for many many years.

Originally sold new in Timaru on the 10th of December 1971 this lovely old survivor spent the first few years down south before heading up to Christchurch where it has resided ever since with one local owner caring for her for several decades before the last owner purchased her in a few years ago, after being one of many to try for years to purchase the car from its long term owner.

A very honest un restored example, this car is well known to us and has been on our radar for a long time, it has always been a good old car that managed somehow to survive the theft that was rampant in the 80s and 90s, and she also managed to survive the Replica and V8 repower days that got most of the good ones too!

The solid clean old body presents well over all and is finished nicely with everything in its place, she appears to have had just the one exterior repaint in the last few years, with most of the original factory paint still present in the door shuts, trunk, and engine bay, which is consistent with seventies Ford Metallic's, as they simply didn't last the distance.

Recently the decision was made to give this example a minor sympathetic cosmetic tidy up to bring it up to speed, as it has always just been driven and used, and was starting to show its age, with faded old metallic and a few minor bruises, and the result is simply stunning!

The very original interior tells the real story of this cars cherished life, and although a couple of small items have been refinished, the interior is almost completely original and in remarkable order for a white trim car of almost fifty years of age.

All as per the factory fitted ID tag which has never been removed, this Australian assembled example was ordered new in the desirable Silver Fox with White trim which was a rare combination as most had black or Saddle interiors, and she came new with the robust 250 cubic inch 4.1 six, coupled up to the Automatic transmission, with power assisted disc brakes up front and as such still drives absolutely superbly.

Great paperwork and original old documentation is still present with this example, and it would be fair to say you would be searching a very long time to find another one quite like it......
