Not many of these have survived to tell the tale, and even fewer in this condition...

This remarkable old Survivor was sold and delivered brand new in November 1971 from the big CH CH Ford Dealer Hutchinson Motors Ltd has been in one Canterbury family ownership almost its entire life, and has never left Canterbury with its full history known and recorded having only travelled a documented 90k miles sine 1971!

Clearly having been treated very well over the decades and never worked hard or left to the elements this lovely old XY is a true unmolested survivor which simply has to be seen to be appreciated.

The body is tidy and straight with doors that open and shut like a new one and the overall the entire body is in very honest original order with no evidence of any major historic repairs or major damage.

The interior condition reflects the true story of this survivor and is unbelievably original still smelling like 1971! The dash is almost perfect with only one small crack in the speaker grill, and the original rubber floor coverings door trims and hood lining are all still present and correct, and in amazing original condition.

The trim and brightwork is all present and in good order with a near perfect grille and trims.

The super quiet and smooth old 3.3 six must have had previous work as it runs absolutely beautifully with the gearbox shifting nicely through the gears and the overall driving experience highlights why the XY was such a popular model when new, and why they have remained so desirable even 50 years on...

This lovely old Ute has had a repaint at some point long ago in its original classic Maize yellow colour which has unfortunately deteriorated over the years with several reaction areas and imperfections now evident, mainly on the top surfaces but effecting most exterior panels, which would require extensive rectification to actually present as well as the photos portray, or you could just consider it part of the character and leave her the way she is and just enjoy driving a classic old Ute you wouldnt be afraid to actually use as God intended.

Some recent maintenance receipts and original books accompany this sale along with an old school period fibreglass canopy.

This dear old survivor presents very well over all for its age, and is a real old honey to drive, but make no mistake the paint is very average up close, and it really deserves at the very least to be on the to do list for the future, that said you would go a long way to find a better more original unmolested example of the breed to start with, and if you painted her properly you would have what would surely be one of the best examples left in existence.

Inspection will impress a genuine buyer who understands just how hard these cars are to find today in any condition...
