Where have all of these gone??

A genuine survivor from the seventies, this cool little GTR has lived on through the decades to tell the tale!

First registered here in NZ in 1973 this 71 model appears to have been originally privately imported from the homeland which might explain why its optioned up nicely with the desirable black and white hounds tooth trim, which is even noted on the options tag for this example.

All three ID tags are still present and correct, and reflect the way the car appeared new and as it still presents today finished in the stunning bright Orange with black trim.

The body on this example presents remarkably well, and appears quite solid, and although this is an unrestored survivor it has had a pretty decent older cosmetic refurbishment in the past, which still looks great, and there are still a lot of tell tale original features in and around the body which give an indication of what is a pretty decent example for the age.

The underside floors are very clean and honest and although there is some evidence of past repairs to the bodywork, there are no nasty patches apparent, or poorly welded up areas, with the chassis rails being very clean, and even more remarkably the wheel arches have not been rolled or tampered with.

The engine runs strong and from the numbers on the block would appear to be the original matching numbers highly prised 2600S engine that the car was born with, and is the same number recorded on the registration history from day one.

Back in the day the popular upgrade to a 5 speed gearbox was carried out, and to be fair it makes more of a user friendly car out of it, but would also be an easy enough reversal if you wished to do so from a purists point of view.

The neat black interior is clean and tidy with parts of it having been refurbished in the past, and the original steering wheel is still pride of place, in front of that super cool full sports gauge dash board.

Decent original chrome and trim adorn the exterior and the neat Globe Sprint master alloys really look the part with wide modern rubber.

Just released from long term local ownership in a private collection this little GTR is ready to go on to reward its next custodian with plenty of smiles per gallon!

Don't delay, these Classic GTRs simply don't come up on the market anymore, and they certainly appear to be a lot better than money in the bank at the moment.....
