The almighty XY GT Shaker in Ute form!

This neat old XY Falcon has had the XY GT replica treatment performed a few years ago as a tribute to one of the most iconic of all Aussie Muscle Cars and as a tribute to the Ute Ford should have built as standard production back in the day!

The base for the build appears to have been a pretty genuine old NZ assembled XY Ute, which if you look hard enough shows the usual old Falcon signs of previous work as would be expected by now, but having never been restored is still smart and tidy and still presents very well generally, especially for a 50+ year old Ute
The crisp stark white paintwork is very presentable as well with a decent shine, and looks great with the GT styled satin black outs, signature Shaker scoop bonnet locks GT cap and the GT Super Roo stripes.

Powering this XY is a tough and lumpy sounding 351 Cleveland, backed by an FMX auto, and on into a BW diff, which all does the job well and over all this XY performs and drives better than would be expected.

The GT style theme is carried through to the interior with the padded dash panels and a GT styled dash board layout complete with the rev counter, and it has also been fitted with an old school sports steering wheel B&M floor shifter, nicely retrimmed bench seat and remote immobiliser system.

Decent chrome and trim along with a big wide set of old school SS Cragars round out the package and give this cool old Ute a decent presence on the road and at the lights.

Although not a perfect top 10 show winner by any stretch, this old Ute is clean and tidy and is more than suitable as a tough old Ute that you can actually use and enjoy, without the worry of protecting a huge investment build, while still turning heads everywhere it goes.

Looks good drives good, and would be a great basis for further detail and further GT treatment if you wanted to go that way, or not, just simply enjoy it as it is.

Hard to find anywhere today, and you couldnt get close to building one of these or anything like it for this sort of money today
