This magnificent HQ LS Monaro Coupe is a lovely original example of this very popular model.

Starting with what was obviously a very nice honest survivor this super straight and dry Monaro has recently been the subject of fully documented repaint back to its former glory in the striking period colour of Dublin Green metallic, complemented by the very rare contrasting Olive green trim, with the correct black vinyl roof, all coming together to give this example that just right seventies style, as well as importantly being completely accurate to its original specification.

The body on this Coupe presents exceptionally well with nice straight panels and very clean lines, with all of the exterior fittings and trims being present and correct and in excellent order, with an overall very nice presentation throughout.

The interior is largely original with only minor work having been carried out to bring the standard of the interior into line with the exterior, while the factory full gauge package sports dash is complemented by an original GTS sports steering wheel, and the original full length centre console.

The nice originally detailed and smooth running 308 V8 ticks over beautifully, and is coupled to the ever popular Tri-Matic automatic transmission, and being equipped with factory power steering this old darling is an absolute pleasure to drive, with excellent road manners.

Original styled steel Rostyle wheels caps and bands complete the overall package and give this lovely old Monaro a nice seventies period correct feel.

Very good examples of the HQ series Monaros are becoming increasingly harder to find today, and as such they are really starting to gain momentum in the collectable Australian car scene, this is a very nice original example which if kept in this condition will no doubt be a rewarding future investment in more ways than one.......
