The HQ Monaro 2 door Coupe, a car that has risen to almost super stardom of late with good examples now very hard to find both here and in their home country...
These HQ Monaros used to be everywhere, but not any more...they are now highly prised by collectors and are an icon of their time.
This local example is a well known car and has been seen and admired at many local shows over the last few years, always being a head turner in its stunning bright Green hue.
According to the original ID tags which are still present this example started life as a 253 V8 LS Coupe, and has subsequently been restored along the popular mild Resto-Mod theme including a repower with a three year old from brand new crate 350 small block Chevrolet engine, with E-Street alloy performance heads, roller rockers, etc, etc, which is coupled up to a Turbo 350 shift kitted automatic trans, and on into a Currie 9 inch Ford diff with 3.25 gears, all held in place by custom tubular arms.
A full custom Willwood four wheel disc brake system has been fitted throughout, complete with cross drilled and slotted rotors, and a custom Willwood master cylinder, and being fitted with power steering and up rated suspension the overall package performs and drives well, proving itself to be an overall reliable touring package.
The body presents very well and has clearly had a serious investment in both time and money to be in the condition it presents in today, with a previous owner carrying out a full panel and paint restoration, and complementing the eye catching paintwork is fully refurbished trim and stainless around the exterior with re chromed bumpers, and a new rubber kit throughout.
The full black interior is a mixture of some original and some refurbished components, and presents well over all with a custom carbon look dash and trimmings.
A set of reproduction up scaled alloy replica Rostyle wheels in 17 inch with low profile rubber complete the look and give this one a staunch modern twist in line with the Resto Modified style of the build.
A very hard car to find today, and this one has clearly had some serious money spent in the recent past, and although it has been used driven and enjoyed, still presents very well today.
