How cool is this old Girl!

These big luxury Regal Hard Tops where always a cool looking car, originally aimed at the more executive end of the market with their massive rear flanks and very American inspired Hard Top roof line.

Sadly like a lot of big Aussie cars of this era these big Coupes fell out of favour in the late eighties and became pretty much pub hacks, and generally got treated badly or butchered beyond help, then add to that the rust which was almost a factory feature for 70s Aussie cars, of then add 50+ years on the road for the ones that did manage to survive, leaves as you would imagine a very limited number of examples left in existence now, making this a very rare and desirable old car today.

This beautiful big Coupe has obviously lived a fortunate life and was respected throughout the decades with long term ownership, so is still a good old honest survivor.

The body on this example appears clean and solid with no obvious evidence of major repairs having been carried out in the past, while the paintwork although older now still presents very well with a nice old period lacquer shine and great patina.
It would have taken a brave man to paint a car of this size Jet Black back in the day, but it really does suit the classy lines of this big cruiser.

The tough as nails old 265 seems very happy in its work and is coupled up to a smooth shifting auto giving a nice cruisy feel and decent manners on the road.

The big grunty Aussie sixes of the period seemed to love LPG as an alternative fuel and this one is no exception, having been dedicated to LPG for many years now the petrol fuel system would no doubt need going through if you ever wanted to run the duel fuel Petrol LPG again, but for the amount of use this old darling is going to get now days, it probably wouldnt warrant changing it, as its more than happy as it is.

The interior is generally clean and tidy, the front seats have custom covers and have been retrimmed in a draylon type material at some point in the past, so the interior is an area where you could add value if you felt the urge, otherwise just enjoy it as it has been for a long time.

Neat chrome and trim and good glass which all rolls up and down properly give a nice over all appeal to this big Hard Top, and the period style Chromed Cragar SS wheels round the package out in style.

A very rare and very cool old survivor, not a mint concours car, but if it was you couldnt really just enjoy driving it and how boring would that be!

Cal today for more details, these Hardtops dont come up every day
