This great looking VJ Six Pac Charger decodes as a very rare Australian Muscle Car.....

According to the original ID tag fitted to the fire wall this example originally started life as a very rare one of just 122 built high performance Six Pac 265 4 speed E48 optioned cars.

A car that needs little introduction to muscle car enthusiasts, the Charger was a formidable performer in its day which left an indelible mark on Motor Racing history as genuine high performance Muscle Car, dominating local series production, and earning respect on many circuits around NZ, and Australia alike.

With high performance and race tracks in mind, this example has lived a colourful life with almost fifty years of service with some of that clearly spent on the track where it would have been at its best.. competing, and as such it is no longer a matching numbers example.
It is believed to have been re-shelled in its early years, as a lot of these cars were back in the day when they had very little value, but if that is the case then the body used was a particularly clean car, as today it presents as a very solid shell with no obvious evidence of previous major accident repairs, and displays very clean paintwork complemented by the instantly recognisable E48 Strobe Stripe decals.

The engine is a strong and very willing 265 complete with those fantastic sounding triple twin choke Six Pac Webbers, screaming through extractors which play a magic tune, while the engine has clearly had previous work carried out with performance in mind.
The tough old 265 is coupled to A 4 speed manual transmission which takes care of getting things moving, while a 4 wheel disc brake Ford rear end gets the power down, and helps stop this one properly too.

Correct and highly desirable W35 alloys and wide rubber look the part, while larger diameter sway bars fitted front and rear make this Charger go around corners just like a good Charger should!

A tidy and functional interior with the correct style machine turned dash layout and 3 spoke wheel is neat and presentable, and a very cool place to sit back and listen to the big side suckers do their work in anger!

A fun car that performs very well and turns a lot of heads, and although this example may only survive today on the reputation of its original body tag, it is unmistakably a very rare opportunity to get the complete performance Charger Six Pac experience without the associate costs and stress of a numbers matching original example.....and you can really enjoy some fun period performance, while really looking the business.
