Any Kiwi over 40 has a story about one of these old girls, everyone had one, or had a mate who had one, they used to be everywhere on every street corner, but not anymore.. HQ Racing and speedway dirt tracks as well as the dreaded rot claimed most of them making it very hard to find one today, and it's even harder to find one in this condition...

This stunning example before you has clearly had a small fortune spent on its extensive restoration to be presented in the condition it is in today.

What appears to be a very clean solid old body is finished in a gorgeous coat of the eye popping 70s hero colour of Barbados Green, and with the satin black outs as a tribute to the SS model, it is a very striking combination that will certainly get you noticed!

The running gear is a nicely detailed and retro fitted bullet proof Holden SS Commodore style 304 injected V8, with the full ECU and wiring loom, coupled up to the Commodore 4 stage 700R 4 automatic which has been adapted to shift via the HQ column shifter, which is a neat touch and allows the interior to retain the full bench seating front and rear for cruising comfort the whole family can enjoy, and very enjoyable it is to cruise in too with power steering and power disc brakes rounding out the package.

The interior has had a full replacement kit fitted in black, and has the Aussie spec headrests, SS GTS style steering wheel, and a full GTS sports instrumentation including the rev counter and additional gauges, with a new rubber kit fitted throughout.

New chrome and trim has been fitted around the exterior to match the level of the rest of the restoration, and the entire package is well sorted presents very well and is completely turnkey, having been shaken down driven and enjoyed since being restored.

A set of 17 inch highly polished deep dish chromed alloys and low profile tires round out the appearance package, and give this HQ a unique style which is hard to miss on the street, making it a real head turner.
