A lovely example of a true survivor in what must have been one of the most desirable colour schemes available at the time.

This magnificent old HQ Statesman has clearly lived a very cherished existence to have survived in this order for the last 50 years...

Originally sold new in Hastings and first registered there, she has made her way down the country over the decades to a classic car enthusiast in Otago who recently gave this very original old car a professional closed door repaint in the original gorgeous chateau mauve metallic but sympathetically saved the original door shuts boot areas and firewall so as not to loose the period authenticity of such an honest old car, and to relieve any doubt as to how good it actually was before the paint was completed.

The body is super straight and shows no evidence of the usual 70s Holden nemesis, with all of the inner areas still presenting in a totally honest original condition.

The interior is in remarkable original condition telling the undeniable true history of this example with the original brocade trim and near perfect door trims and dash a refreshing sight to behold, along with a GTS style cluster which was ordered new in the day as an option and the correct push button radio still in place.

If one of these cars has been abused it certainly shows in the interior with some items simply no longer obtainable for restoration, so its really nice to see this one in its original unmolested true form.

The original matching numbers 308 engine has receipts for a complete rebuild, with relatively little millage travelled since, and the driving experience is as it should be with nice smooth power and a lovely change through the column automatic shifted transmission while you sit back in the total comfort of the big bench lounge suites.

All of the unique trim and brightwork is present and correct and the original wide patterned vinyl top has also remarkably survived.

A real honey of an example of an iconic old Holden from the seventies and this really is a good one.

This example retains its original black plates hand written ownership papers and period sales literature once again confirming this one has always been someones absolute pride and joy.
