A real rarity here on our shores, especially being first registered here new in NZ in 1974, and after all these years still retaining the original black plates! !

This neat old Ventura was one of the old Deep Freeze imports that came here back in the day in the belly of a Hercules, and became a well known North Canterbury car having originally lived out that way for a good part of the Seventies and Eighties, and was always a head turner as there wasn't much around in those days that looked like this cool old bruiser!

Ending up in the deep south this old Pontiac was tracked down and purchased a few years back by a Kaiapoi local who passionately remembered this particular car as a kid, and this rare old Pontiac has now undergone a fairly extensive rebuild from the ground up at his and many others hands, culminating in many man hours spent and a substantial investment in both time and money to be presented in the condition you see it in today.

The body received a fully documented restoration with photographic proof of the repairs where necessary before being treated to a lovely coat of GM Grabber Orange, while the 350 Pontiac engine and four speed manual where both procured rebuilt, and slotted back between the refurbished rails before final assembly saw new chromed bumpers and reconditioned trim along with a full new rubber kit being fitted , along with numerous other refurbished or new items, the list just goes on and on!

A correct set of period Style Steel Sports wheels were sourced and restored with new white lettered BFGs for the period Muscle Car look, and the package presents very well as a result.

A full new interior kit including new carpets was fitted with anything else required replaced or restored back to original , and some new glass also fitted.

The package performs and drives well with a rebuilt diff, along with power disc brakes up front, and power steering giving a nice user friendly feel and nice road manners over all.

We have just put this Pontiac trough the stringent re-registration process as the registration had become dormant many years ago, which involves a full repair certification being carried out along with a Full VINZ inspection of works completed , so all attempts have been made to ensure this one will last the next 48 years!

A very cool looking car in Gabber Orange with a cool old school stance, very cool with the 4 speed 350, and you're not likely to be parked beside another one at your local car show that's for sure!
