The iconic V6 3000 GXL Capri, the fastest production car available from Ford in its day, it was and still is a very desirable offering from the Blue Oval.

Its very hard to find any surviving GXL Capris today, and when you do they are usually big dollar restored examples...This one however has never been restored, rather just driven and enjoyed, so its showing some age, but is a complete un butchered survivor with a great over all appearance, looking like its just driven out of the 80s!

The body appears to be solid with no obvious signs of major surgery, and the original desirable Modena Green has been refinished at some point long ago and still presents well.

A full loaded example in its day this GXL has the desirable sliding steel sunroof, cloth inserts in the seats and the prized four speed manual transmission, so is definitely the one to have.

The smooth and grunty 3000 V6 engine has clearly had some enhancements of some kind, as this little Capri performs considerably better than any others we have ever had for sale, giving surprisingly strong acceleration, and being quite capable of lifting its nose proudly through the gears with that unmistakable V6 soundtrack.

Being a factory 3.0 car in its original shell all of the correct v6 body gussets and strengtheners are in place as is the big Atlas diff and larger fuel tank.

The interior appears to relatively correct and complete, and the dash pad is crack free.

This would be an exceptionally good car to take to the next level with a light restoration as it has all of its correct stainless trim down the sides the original Halogen head lamps and almost all of the little unobtainable bits that are usually always missing, making it quite a rare survivor, so it would respond very well to a good going over if thats your thing, or just drive it and enjoy it exactly as it is, without the related concerns of a restored car, because its pretty cool just the way it is too.

A very cool old Car that still turns heads today at almost 50 years of age just like it did back in 1974! And simply just a nice very usable classic that will put a smile on your face.
