How cool is this neat old piece of Kiwiana!

A genuine one original owner from new, Christchurch delivered car that's lived in the same place in Canterbury its entire life!

Sold and delivered new in January 1974 by Hutchinson Motors the Big Christchurch Central Ford Dealer, this old darling has survived the many decades, has always been garaged, and has clearly been the pride and joy of its doting owners, who clearly worked hard to buy it and respected it accordingly, as evidenced by the little hand written log book that has been kept detailing every cent spent including the petrol! for the last 45 years!!

A well known car to us for some 30 years, this example has always been a good old car, and is a very original totally honest example showing a respected and maintained existence.

The body work is remarkably solid for an XA with only minor evidence of the odd bump and bruise received along the way, along with some minor paint touch ups as was often the case with seventies metallic's, but over all she still presents exceptionally well and wears her little marks and blemishes as her badges of honour!

The bullet proof old 250 cube 4.1 6 cylinder is very happy in her work, runs beautifully, and coupled up to the manual trans, shifts really nicely making this example an absolute pleasure to drive, and the experience is made even nicer with this XA having power steering too!

Fitted back in the day with LPG this old girl is running on duel fuel, and the tank was recently serviced so can remain in use if required or can be removed leaving no trace as thankfully it hasn't had extra fuel filler holes cut into the body work!

Records show hardened valve seats and head work in the nineties, and general maintenance performed over the last several decades, with the car now showing 130k miles.

The interior is super honest and consistent with the rest of the condition of the car, the original carpets are still proudly fitted, and the trim is all original apart from a very small very well done repair on the edge of the driver's seat.

You would go a long way to find another XA 500 as good and as honest as this one, and a genuine one owner car would be unlikely to say the least, this car is reluctantly only being offered for sale today, due to its now quite mature owners struggle to actually drive her, so regrettably this faithful old friend is now offered for genuine and definite sale.....
