####SOLD###SOLD###SOLD###SOLD####Not many Blue Blooded Australian Muscle Cars can claim to be rarer and lower in production numbers than the all mighty GT-HO Falcon..but here's one from the other camp that certainly can!
Only 214 factory 350 powered HQ Monaro Sedans were ever produced out of almost half a million HQs in total, and of those only 160 with the 350 Cubic inch TH400 combination, making this particular example one of the rarest of all Australian production Muscle Cars.
The example you see here would be one of only a handful left anywhere today, and has a fully recorded history here in NZ being sold here New Zealand New and retaining the original black number plates.
Coming out of the Pagewood plant in Sydney this HQ was produced in one of the Hero colours for the time Chrome Yellow, which looks fantastic and is complemented by the satin blackouts would have to be one of the most desirable combinations of the time.
To say this Monaro has had a thorough restoration would be a considerable understatement...the restoration of this HQ must have burned up a considerable amount of time and resources and it shows throughout, with the presentation displayed being nothing short of immaculate.
The body is remarkable, these cars were never as straight as this one when new, and the gorgeous paintwork is finished beautifully, so it would be fair to say this example is probably far better cosmetically finished today than when it left the plant in 74.
The underside has been treated to the same level of attention with the fully painted floor and chassis looking as new, while the mechanicals powering this magnificent HQ are a period correct 350 believed to be the original engine, although machine decked when fully rebuilt, so without its number stamp, however the original tags are present and correct for a NZ delivered 350 and describe this example as it is presented today.
The chassis number is still stamped on the front sub frame, and being a Sydney built car it also has the firewall stamping so although extensively restored today it appears to still be relatively original body wise, largely correct and complete and is as recorded on the tags and registration data.
The interior has been refinished and is a very nice reflection of the period when cars where simply cool because they could be with the engine turned dash facia, deep black bucket seats centre console and trade mark GTS steering wheel.
New chrome and a full rubber kit along with highly polished genuine stainless trim all come together to enhance the overall appearance of this GTS 350 and it really is just a nice looking car with a great feel.
Having done a few miles and having had a reasonable shakedown since restoration, this example appears to be performing and driving well, with decent over all manners on the road .
This is a very rare opportunity to own a very rare GTS 350 HQ Monaro Sedan, these cars are very difficult to find anywhere today and the cost of importing one and putting it on the road here if you could find another example would be cost prohibitive to say the least, so this one is certainly worth consideration for an astute investor.
