How cool is this for a genuine original survivor!

They dont get much more honest than this old darling!

This remarkably original unmolested and absolutely genuine SLR 5000 was purchased new in Canterbury and is believed to have been delivered new by Blackwell Motors with it then remaining in the ownership of its original purchaser until very recently, so that is almost a genuine one owner NZ new SLR 5000!

Originally purchased by its now deceased owner primarily to tow a Caravan, hence the mandatory tow bar, the Torana was only really a weekend car and as such did very limited mileage over the almost 50 years of ownership, and despite what appears to be a couple of miss entries at W.O.F time is showing circa 57kms on the clock today.

One of the very few examples left in existence that hasnt had the almost compulsory day two L34 bolt on Flare treatment, the body has never been butchered on this SLR and is remarkably dry with large portions of original paint still evident on the top surfaces and abound all of the inner areas.

Unbelievably this genuine car has never repainted however in later years of ownership the old boy did touch park her a few times and misjudge the garage on a few occasions so there are a few bumps blemishes, touch ups and dings along the sides, but its really all just part of her character of a very genuine old car, and she wears every mark and bruise proudly.

The running gear is super smooth with the lovely 308 being a very sweet running unit coupled up to the Automatic transmission, making this lovely example a real pleasure to drive in traffic or out on the open road.

The interior is so original it looks like its in a car fraction of its age, and really does just confirm the story of a well cherished existence over a long period of time, the original steering wheel and ashtray are all still present as is almost all of the original period correct trim in almost perfect condition.

Finished in the neat high impact Absinth Yellow with black accents and well-worn original decals, this Torana is an absolute time warp, and when was the last time you saw an SLR still wearing its original hubcaps!

All body tags and body stampings original and un disturbed, with this original survivor decoding exactly as it left the Dandenong plant in Melbourne all those years ago.
