The iconic Valiant Charger! arguably the best styling of the big Aussie Coupes from the traditional chrome bumper Muscle Car Era.

This stunning example was originally imported from its native homeland back when a good solid dry example was still easy enough to source and was then placed in dry storage here in NZ for almost 20 years !

Fast forward to today and we find a lovely example that has over the last couple of years been the recipient of a fairly major back to bare metal cosmetic refurbishment, and after a fairly serious investment in both time and resources is now back on the road, having been very recently fully complied and LVVTA certified.

It takes a brave man to bare metal an old Charger but when they are this good in the body there is little to worry about, and the old adage of start with a good one end with a good one certainly rings true with any old Valiant.

The body work is really nice and would rate as one of the best bodies we have seen recently, the original swage lines around the arches and sills and general fitment tell the story, and then a really nice coat of two pack Mercury Silver with the traditional black outs has been applied and really looks the part.

The running gear consists of a smooth and willing LA smallblock V8 engine topped with a four barrel through to a nice shifting auto which all comes together giving the driver a pleasent driving experience from the car with a nice tight feel and decent period manners on the road, and the V8 certainly looks right at home in the nicely finished engine bay.

The interior has been refurbished in the build and is a mix of original refinished seating with new carpets and hood liner and presents very well with a full complement of instruments in the dash complete with the tachometer, and also retro fitted is a Mopar reproduction Tuff wheel allowing more room in the cabin, which is a nice touch too.

The chrome and brightwork which appears to be largely original presents well and is all present and correct, while old school tridens with Eagars just like it would have had back in the day really look the part, and give this neat old Charger a great look and over all presence on the road.

Well worth a look if your in the market for a decent old Charger, not a full blown concours restoration but rather a thorough makeover of a very nice old car that presents very well, and is finished to a decent standard that is not so precious that you cant actually use and enjoy it.

The hard work has been done on this one, and shes ready to be driven and enjoyed!
