How's this for a rare old survivor!

Not many of these Ute's survived decades of abuse to tell their story, but this one has.

This remarkably rare old Ute was sold brand new in Christchurch, and according to its original hand book which it has managed to somehow retain all of these years, was assembled in Australia for export to NZ being delivered to the first owner on the 18th January 1978 from the big local Chrysler Dealer- Cooper Henderson Motors.

Fast forward a few decades and this old Ute came into the possession of a local classic car enthusiast who set about a comprehensive refurbishment of what was a pretty decent solid clean old survivor.

The very straight solid body was cleaned up nicely and treated to a stunning coat of deep Ruby Red metallic, which absolutely pops in the sunlight while the full interior was treated to a makeover with new carpets new seating and a full rubber kit.

The lively old 265 engine seems very happy in its work and has plenty of good old Valiant Torque with accompanying receipts for a rebuild and further recent maintenance.

The manual transmission has a nice shift through the original column shifter, and the package performs well over all with decent solid manners on the road, is very easy to drive and has that neat old Chrysler rock solid feel.

Nice chrome and trim complement the exterior of this old Mopar while a set of Charger wheels caps and chrome bands round out her appearance package and add a bit of flair.

A well known regular at most of our local car events this old Chrysler always draws attention where ever it goes, as you simply don't see them anymore, and if you do they certainly don't look like this.

It generally takes a serious amount of time and investment to get a 40 plus year old commercial vehicle to this standard of finish, as by nature most worked a lot harder than their passenger car siblings, so they require a lot more work to bring them back, and that's if you can even find one to start with...

This rare old Ute really looks the part and presents very well over all, you could take her to your local car show and be very proud of her.
