This example you see before you started life as a rare factory V8 Calais, and has over the last few years had a substantial investment in time resources and money to replicate one of the all time Holden greats, and it presents very well today with a great over all stance.

The clean body has been fitted with the appropriate wings and scoops and is finished in the stunning Formula Blue that made these now iconic cars instantly recognisable.

The Running gear propelling this weapon is a stroked Holden V8 which is out to 350 cubic inches with a Harrop manifold and fuel injection system with a Haltech management system among a multitude of other things which according to the extensive receipts file was rebuilt by the respected local performance engine builder HPI here in CHCH and is producing quite an impressive dyno sheet for a street able but still reasonably angry road car.

The staunch engine is coupled to a TKO 600 5 speed Tremac gearbox and onto the disc brake V8 diff, with upgraded suspension and decent braking system, all covered by full LVVTA certification.

The interior is refurbished in black leather with new door trims trimmed all stitched to match the later model fully electric HSV leather bucket seats, with the neat Calais digital dash taking you right back to the eighties!

Tinted glass all around give a clean appearance and although this machine has been driven and enjoyed with a few wee blemishes showing, it still presents very well and looks very sharp.

Big Simmons polished gold alloys and low profile rubber fill the wheel arches right up and give this Commodore the aggressive stance and a style that has become very popular today.

These 80s Australian iconic Muscle Cars are now becoming highly prized and desirable replicas of their genuine big dollar cousins and appear to be heading in the same direction as the XY Falcon GT replicas, appealing to a younger generation of buyers who relate to them, as they are still relatively affordable by comparison, for now..
