How cool is this neat factory built Hot Rod Pick Up Truck!

Lightning struck the performance scene in 1993 when an intimidating, lowered, 5.8-liter F-150 pickup rolled out of Ford's Special Vehicle Team (SVT) shop and onto the street. Hot on the heels of assembling the '93 Mustang Cobra, SVT applied the Cobra's parts-sharing approach to build 10,000 limited-edition trucks with the looks and performance to earn a bad-boy reputation.
Ford's speed gurus started with a basic F-150 (half-ton) shortbed pickup equipped with the XLT package. As they did with the Cobra, the engineers at SVT built their own version of a production engine, a 5.8-liter V-8 was improved with a pair of GT-40 aluminium cylinder heads, originally developed for competition. An aggressive cam profile was used to take advantage of the increased valve and port sizes. Airflow was optimized through a tuned aluminium intake manifold, larger-than-stock throttle body, tubular headers, and dual exhaust system. High-silicon aluminium pistons with lighter rings were fitted in the Windsor small-block to reduce internal friction. The engine computer was reprogrammed to take advantage of these modifications, providing crisp throttle response without affecting emissions.
The hunkered down stance these trucks enjoy was achieved in collaboration with none other than the legendary Sir Jackie Stewart who had a hand in the suspension set up of these trucks giving them exceptional road holding and handling for a Pick Up Truck, and as such these trucks enjoyed a reputation for being brisk and very capable sports trucks.
This 94 model Lightning is a very clean and very sharp example of this now rare Pick Up, and its been on our shores for thirty years, and during this time this cool truck has clearly been treated respectfully as the special vehicle that it is, showing no signs of abuse or hard work of any kind.
In remarkable condition for its age the body is very straight and original, with excellent paintwork, a theme which is carried throughout the entire vehicle with the cabin presenting like an almost new car, displaying immaculate trim and carpets further confirming a very cherished existence, with the unique electric sports bucket seats showing almost no wear at all.
One of only 1165 specially built in 1994 in the stunning flame red, this is a very rare survivor today.

With everything in its place and as it should be including the factory unique tear drop alloys, this super cool Pick Up is sure to be a future collectable, and it will be a lot of fun getting there!

Inspection will impress a genuine buyer for this very special very genuine example.
