A very nice example of a undeniable future collectable, and a very unique part in the Legacy of the iconic Mustang Pony Car!

This gorgeous iconic Highland Green limited edition Special Bullitt Mustang is a cool car in its own right, built by Ford as a tribute to the immortal Steve McQueen Bullitt Mustang of movie fame, these cars are starting to become quite desirable in the States with the passage of time, and for very good reason, the survivors have become scarce and represent a lot of collector car for relative little outlay.

The Bullitt Mustang introduced for the first time in 2001 was a lot more than a few stickers and stripes, these cars had a lot of unique features and styling ques harking back to the original movie car, the body had a few discrete and unique styling changes over the GT and Cobra model, and of course the Torque Thrust alloys are a modern interpretation of the old Bullitt car as well.

Under the hood the already quite responsive 4.6 litre engine received a special intake upgrade for better airflow and power, including a cast-aluminium intake, twin 57-mm bore throttle body and high-flow mufflers, bringing the power up from the standard GT while sounding fantastic too.

Team Mustang also gave Bullitt a firmer lowered suspension design for tighter handling and response, while special large Brembo brakes were also fitted as part of the package, along with Fords Four-channel ABS system, linked to all-speed traction control as well as special exterior enhancements and interior touches meant to capture the spirit of the movie car, with a factory serialized identification label included to verify each 2001 Bullitt as a true collectible.


The interior has some neat touches too like the unique instrument panel designed to look old school, along with the unique brushed alloy manual shifter and pedal covers, while the special seating has been shaped and stitched in a style reminiscent of the 68 GT Fastback from the original movie.

This particular example has been here in NZ since 2012 and has clearly been treated with respect as it still presents almost like a new car with only a little wear from being driven and enjoyed, but not too much as this example has only travelled 33k miles, and is still a crisp sharp looking example.

Retaining the original Ford dealer window sticker invoice and original books this would be a good one to tuck away for the future, or just a nice affordable modern Classic that would be fun to own and drive, either way you couldnt really go wrong with this little stunner.
